The course, which is already available at sokszinukemia.hu, an Egis-run website, covers all topics of the advanced level school leaving exam and includes examples of some calculations. Visitors of the website are not only offered presentations held by professors or lecturers of the four participating universities, but they can also benefit from the power point presentations accompanying the video materials. There are 35 comprehensive lectures and 10 calculations to help interested learners recognize connections and put what they have learned in theory into practice. The short, 20-30-minute videos can be watched online, without registration, the presentations are downloadable.
Egis, the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Eötvös Loránd University, Semmelweis University, University of Szeged, that is, the members of the team behind the project hope that they can contribute to the secondary school leavers’ successful achievements at the approaching final chemistry exam and that in the long term, the initiative will generate a positive impact for those who choose a career in chemistry, chemical engineering, medicine, or pharmacy.
