The pharmaceutical company has continued a tradition of several years when it renewed its partnership agreement with the basketball team of the town. This season the legendary team in black-and-red kit continues to play as Egis Körmend.

Under the cooperation agreement the team from county Vas continues to take the court by the name Egis Körmend. The agreement was signed by Csaba Poroszlai, CEO of Egis and Gergő Kozma, managing director of Egis Körmend. At the event also present was the initiator of the cooperation István Bebes, Mayor of Körmend. 
On the special occasion CEO Csaba Poroszlai tossed the ball up in the air before the game started. 
As one of the largest companies in the region, Egis has many ties to the town of Körmend. Production started more than fifty years ago in its local plant, where several large-scale developments have been accomplished recently. These investments made the usage of the most advanced technology possible, these days about one hundred million boxes of medicine - that is almost 60% of Egis finished products - are produced in Körmend. 
“Supporting the region’s development and the community initiatives in the region is important to Egis. The basketball team of the town of Körmend is our sole partner from the field of sport, our partnership goes back a decade” – stated Csaba Poroszlai CEO of the pharma company. 
“Our iconic team can take credit for helping kids grow to love sports and letting them discover the joy of moving from an early age through youth development projects. This experience will stay with them for decades even though they do not get actively involved in sports later” - Gergő Kozma added. The legendary tight-knit fan base of the team is a particularly good example of how sport can play a part in community building. "The Municipality of Körmend and Egis Pharmaceuticals PLC have had a very good relationship for decades. This has been reflected not only by the cooperation in the field of employment, but it has also been materialized in improving transport conditions, supporting environmental protection programmes in Körmend, as well as in sport and culture. The fact that in Egis the town’s basketball club has had a reliable partner for almost 10 years makes us really proud. I wish them many more successful years of cooperation." - said István Bebes, Mayor of Körmend. 
The team, which is one of the top Hungarian basketball teams has been playing under the name of Egis Körmend since 2014.
