The programs of MÁESZ are of national and public health importance. As a company based in Kőbánya (10th district of Budapest), Egis offered five local MÁESZ screening days specifically for the district, therefore this year its residents were able to take part in the screening tests conveniently, close to their home.

Egis Health and Prevention Days took place in Kőbánya back in November, before the stricter measures came into force due to the epidemic situation. About three-quarters of the participants were advised to participate by their GPs, so they arrived at a pre-arranged time to the MÁESZ screening station set up in the carpark of the Kőbánya Children and Youth Leisure Centre (KÖSZI) – this way mass gathering could be avoided. At the remaining appointments those who applied on site had the chance to participate in the tests.

‘People's health awareness can always be improved’, said business unit manager Dr. Gyöngyi Valiskó. – This is also the case in Hungary, it is enough to look at the data on morbidity and mortality. Unfortunately, we don’t perform well in many statistics.’

Thanks to the thirty types of tests at the screening station, participants were given a comprehensive picture about their general health, which allowed them to identify the most dangerous risk factors and to receive information on healthy way of living.
