Egis Pharmaceuticals Plc. and the Körmend basketball club have extended their name sponsor contract until September 2019. Egis Körmend has had this name since 1 January 2014.

Egis Pharmaceuticals Plc. and the Körmend basketball club have extended their name sponsor contract until September 2019. Egis Körmend has had this name since 1 January 2014.

The pharma company gave its name to the Körmend basketball team in the spirit of its slogan “Egis - Health. Life. Quality.”  Thanks to the safe and predictable financial background, the club won its 7th Hungarian Cup trophy in 2016 and has continuously been among the top teams of the Hungarian championship.

In addition to being the town’s traditional large-scale employer with over 700 workers in the Körmend factory unit, Egis is far more than an employer in Körmend: it is also the key promoter of developments and civil initiatives in town.
