Budapest/Fót, 12 October 2026 – Egis Pharmaceuticals PLC is further expanding its warehousing and finished-product distribution capacities with another strategic development. With a storage capacity of 30,000 pallets, the facility is Hungary’s largest single-space finished-product warehouse operated by a pharmaceutical manufacturer.

Located in the HelloParks industrial park in Fót, the facility has a total floor area of nearly 20,000 square metres, of which around 1,000 square metres is office space. Nearly 60 Egis employees are involved in its day-to-day operations. The new distribution centre provides storage for Egis finished products and serves both domestic and export customers, directly supporting Egis’ international market presence spanning more than 100 countries.

The new distribution centre was needed to accommodate growing production volumes and the resulting increase in storage requirements. In recent years, the company has strengthened its pharmaceutical value chain in Hungary through several strategic developments. The Fót investment enables Egis to establish a more unified, transparent and efficient warehousing operation while providing a more advanced infrastructure for meeting customer needs.

This is particularly important because the stability and resilience of pharmaceutical supply chains have become a key issue in Europe in recent years. The strategic importance of pharmaceutical logistics lies in the fact that finished products must be stored and distributed under strictly controlled conditions: appropriate quality, availability and traceability are directly linked to the safe supply of medicines to patients. Within its own operations, the Egis development in Fót supports this broader industry objective: the modern, integrated finished-product logistics infrastructure enhances the transparency, predictability and efficiency of post-manufacturing processes.

“With the Fót facility, which can accommodate 30,000 pallets, we have created Hungary’s largest single-space finished-product warehouse operated by a pharmaceutical manufacturer. This development was necessary in view of Egis’ position in the Hungarian market, our growing production volumes and our export activities spanning more than 100 countries. In terms of the number of packs sold, we rank first in the Hungarian pharmaceutical market, which makes it particularly important that our manufacturing operations are supported by modern, integrated and reliable finished-product logistics. This also helps ensure that our products can reach patients on time,” said Csaba Poroszlai, CEO of Egis Pharmaceuticals PLC.

“Our agreement with Egis clearly demonstrates that modern, sustainable industrial properties built to high technical standards can also provide strategically important operational infrastructure for pharmaceutical companies. We are delighted that the HelloParks megapark in Fót is home to this major development,” said Rudolf Nemes, CEO of HelloParks.

Following the official inauguration, invited guests toured Egis’s new distribution center in Fót and were introduced to the facility’s operations.

The warehouse has been designed to meet modern pharmaceutical requirements and European regulatory expectations: it provides controlled storage for finished products, including temperature-controlled conditions of 2–8°C and 15–25°C, and complies with strict environmental and fire safety requirements. In line with the specific requirements of pharmaceutical operations, the facility features customised technical solutions and temperature-control systems; its operations are supported by Egis employees, Egis equipment and the company’s own IT system.
