Egis announces further investments at its Körmend site

Over the next few years, Egis Pharmaceuticals PLC will invest EUR 21.1 million to increase its capacity at its Körmend site. To finance these developments, Egis will use its own capital and a government subsidy of EUR 3.4 million – announced Csaba Poroszlai, CEO of Egis. In total, the company will devote more than EUR 50 million to the development of the Körmend site of Egis since 2019.

Csaba Poroszlai elected vice president of MAGYOSZ

Mr. Csaba Poroszlai, CEO of Egis and dr Tamás Rónay CEO of Sanofi-Aventis and Chinoin were elected vice presidents of the Hungarian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers’ Association (MAGYOSZ) at the Association’s annual general meeting. The executive director of Meditop Kft., dr Dávid Greskovits, will hold the position of president for another three years. Mr. Csaba Poroszlai has also become the member of the presidential board.

Egis sponsored the 40th Hungarian Press Photo Contest

The Hungarian Press Photo Contest, the most prestigious national competition for photographers and news photographers in Hungary was held for the 40th times. Once again, Egis sponsored the Nature and science category of the contest. Many of the submitted photos are on display in the Hungarian National Museum in Budapest, however, the exhibition will later travel to other locations in the country as well.

A free online chemistry course launched to help students prepare for advanced level school leaving exam

The free online preparation course in chemistry was initiated by Egis Pharmaceuticals PLC. Egis and four prestigious Hungarian universities (Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Eötvös Loránd University, Semmelweis University, University of Szeged) have teamed up to fill a gap in chemistry education and realize this project to help students prepare for their advanced level, secondary school leaving exam in chemistry.

Chemical Sector Training Centre to be established in Budapest

A Chemical Sector Training Centre will be established on the premises of Lajos Petrik Bilingual Vocational School (BMSZC Petrik Lajos Két Tanítási Nyelvű Technikum). Supported by the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, the facility will be built from public funds of around HUF 2 billion. It shall promote professional qualifications in the chemical sector in Hungary, and contribute to provide students with high quality, modern trainings suited to the labour market demands.
